About the role
We are seeking talented Site Supervisors to join our Rail Team in Swindon, Bristol or Exeter. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all work is executed and delivered safely, to a high standard of quality, and in alignment with client expectations. The portfolio of projects will include Drainage, Earthworks, and Structural schemes across the Great Western Network. You will also manage a multi-skilled team of direct and agency workers, as well as specialist subcontractors.

What you’ll be doing

  • Provide clear and comprehensive briefings on TBS/WPP/COSS at the start of each shift to all workforce members, ensuring full understanding by everyone.
  • Communicate any issues or changes to the General Foreman/Agent promptly.
  • Plan and efficiently utilize direct labour on site.
  • Provide feedback to the General Foreman/Agent regarding resource levels required for the contract.
  • Monitor performance against production targets and report progress weekly.
  • Manage the ‘plant on hire list’ on a weekly basis and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records of all site plant and labour.
  • Ensure proper and efficient storage of materials on site to prevent damage.
  • Ensure that all materials and workmanship meet the required specifications.
  • Maintain a daily site diary and/or allocation sheets.
  • Take overall responsibility for safety performance at the site level.
  • Integrate HSQE into work activities and ensure sufficient resources are available to carry out operations.
  • Conduct site safety inductions.
