Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Proactive involvement in the Company’s HSQE management processes. Submit near observation/miss reports and encourage others in the team to do so as well. Support investigations into observation/near misses, accidents or incidents.
- Actively encourage continuous improvement activities for both maintenance and procedures. Support engineers involved in these activities.
- Attend and participate in meetings with the customer where necessary.
- By exception, undertake fault finding and repair using appropriate technical information (e.g. Technical drawings and fault finding guides).
- Sample checking of relevant documentation for all work carried out in order to accurately record activities that are recorded for the company and the customer.
- By exception, participate in 24/7 shift working including callout when required.
- Support the Shift Team Leader in control and motivation of the engineers.
- Monitor fleet maintenance for compliance against the schedule.
- Utilise engineers to control site spares. Conduct a rolling stock check against HANA.
- Ensure all site employees are complying with the MTU Quality and Environmental standards. Monitor competence and take appropriate action for shortfalls.
- Assist the Supervisor in the development of risk assessments, safe systems of work and best practice for workshop processes and tasks.
- Ensure that MTU used parts of the depot are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness.
- Providing technical support to site employees as and when required.
- Conduct quality and competency inspections as necessary.
- Ensure that all special tools and equipment are kept in good order and that repair requirements are actioned.
- To assist the Supervisor in maintaining and updating the HSQE ‘site packs’ for the depots under their responsibility.
