This is a Part Time Assistant, Skills Lab- Nursing position that will be reporting to the Lab Coordinator and Director of Nursing Education. They will assist with clinical nursing learning lab facilities and services. The Lab Assistant is responsible for preparation and clean-up of equipment and supplies used in a clinical laboratory.

Essential Duties

  • Assists with day-to-day activities and services of the nursing lab area including lab set up, management of lab equipment and supplies.
  • Makes simple repairs and performs minor maintenance to lab equipment.
  • Conducts inventories of consumable lab equipment and supplies as needed.
  • May prepare and assist in maintenance in a variety of records and reports.

Salary $14.00 per hour

Physical Requirements Required

  • Exposure to hazards related to working in medical waste/sharps environment.
  • Frequent lifting of objects up to 50 pounds
  • Potential for exposure to contaminated blood and/or body fluids.
  • Subject to walking, sitting, and standing, bending, reaching, kneeling, and stooping.
  • Work is performed in a standard office and clinical lab environment.

Other Requirements

  • Associate degree in nursing or graduation from an accredited or State Nursing Board approved professional nursing program, OR a nursing student.
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers
  • Reliable transportation for travel in the NWACC service area.
  • Follows current clinical /lab dress code.
  • Work safely and follow safety rules. Report unsafe working conditions and behavior. Take reasonable and prudent actions to prevent other from engaging in unsafe practices.
