Description:
POSITION: SLITTER MACHINE OPERATOR
Reports to: Conversion supervisor and manager.
Direct Reports: This position has limited supervisory responsibilities for the
Slitter Machine Operator and Assistant.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Slitter Machine Operator is responsible for operating the slitter machine to process corrugated plastic sheets according to specified gages and dimensions in order to maintain the company’s goal of 100% on time delivery to our customers.
The Slitter Machine Operator will act as a Operator and provide Guidance and knowledge on the functions of the Slitter Machine over the Assistant Slitter Machine Operator. The Slitter Machine operator will train and be willing to be trained on new machines and assist in making decisions regarding the Slitter Machine Operator as well as but not limited to , supplies orders, sizing, job specific information and details and time frame to projects.
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE:
- 2 -3 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Responsibilities:
POSITION DUTIES:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- · Set up Slitter machine following work instructions outlined in the Slitter Quality Plan.
· Produce all products within specifications and times allowed.
· Neatly pile conforming Slitter products on skids and record quantities, according to the production schedule.
· Remove and identify non-conforming products to ensure quality standards.
· Remove trim pieces and place in containers for disposal. Non-laminated product trim pieces placed in containers and sent to grinder area for recycling. Laminated trim pieces placed in containers to be sent to garbage collection.
· Perform in-process quality control checks by frequent inspection; and adjust machine controls, every ½ hour, and/or as required.
· Check quantities, dimensions, and description to ensure that products comply with daily production schedule
· Make blade changes according to daily production schedule.
· Make sure blades are put away at the end of each order in the proper location.
· Accurately complete daily production reports to avoid production and inventory errors.
· Move full skids of slit product to appropriate areas, as required.
· Inform Production Supervisor of any defects, breakage and/or down time on the shift.
· Perform regular production area clean up during and at the end of each shift.
· Complete and submit maintenance requests when necessary.
· Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
· Participate in continuous improvement activities as required.
· Adhere to Quality standards and procedures
· Special projects and other responsibilities as may be determined.
