The Smart Metering project is a new but extremely important initiative for Affinity Water. This is a key role within the new Smart Metering team, responsible for ensuring we can maximise the benefits for our customers, our environment, and our business from the installation of smart meters. The postholder will report to the Compliance Manager, under the Smart Metering Delivery Lead within the Asset Strategy & Capital Delivery Directorate.
We are currently seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Auditor to join our Smart Metering Programme team. In this role, you will report to the Compliance Manager and play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of all works conducted by our delivery partners and Affinity Water teams.
As the Quality Assurance Auditor, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive quality assessments, inspections, and audits to ensure compliance with established standards, regulations, and best practices. Your focus will extend across all aspects of the Smart Metering Programme, including meter replacements, installations, maintenance, reinstatements, and associated technology deployment.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Quality, Management, or a related field.
- Certification in Quality Management (e.g., Certified Quality Manager, ISO 9001Lead Auditor) preferred.
- Hold a New Roads and Streetworks Act (NRSWA) Supervisor qualification. TheSLG qualification is also required.
- Thorough understanding of quality management principles, methodologies,and practices, with a focus on assurance and compliance within the utilitiesindustry
- Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and best practices governing quality assurance and compliance activities in the utilities sector
- Understanding of risk management principles and techniques to identify,assess, and mitigate risks associated with quality assurance activities EssentialMust hold a valid UK driving license
- Demonstrated experience in conducting quality assessments, inspections, andaudits of programme deliverables, including installations and replacements,to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations
