#ABOUT THE GIG
We are seeking an expert in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence to join our Education team as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and/or Lead Teacher for our 1-year Data Science & AI Program. You will be responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive content that covers the latest tools, technologies, and methodologies in data science, machine learning, and AI.
The curriculum spans a range of critical topics, including programming fundamentals, advanced data analytics, machine learning, AI model development, and operationalization in cloud environments. You will guide students through hands-on projects, helping them gain expertise in Python, R, SQL, NoSQL, TensorFlow, PyTorch, cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), and more.
Your role is to ensure that the course is both academically rigorous and practically relevant. You will help students build real-world skills, from data wrangling and visualization to deploying AI models and managing machine learning workflows in production. By the end of the program, students will be equipped with the expertise needed for roles in data science, machine learning, and AI, showcasing their abilities through a capstone project that integrates the full spectrum of skills learned throughout the course.
Responsibilities:
As a Subject Matter Expert, you will be responsible for delivering the following (non-exhaustive):
- Participate in discussions with external stakeholders to understand their needs and define the scope of the bootcamp.
- Create a detailed syllabus for the Data Science and AI bootcamp, outlining learning outcomes, modules to be taught, and assessment methods.
- Develop comprehensive course materials for both self-paced and teacher-led bootcamp sessions, including lessons, projects, and exercises.
- Design practical, real-world projects such as AI-driven applications, data analysis dashboards, and database management systems that align with the bootcamp’s learning goals.
- Create tailored project briefs and rubrics to evaluate student projects, ensuring they reflect industry standards and best practices.
If you’re also interested in teaching the course, your responsibilities would include:
- Prepare balanced lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners, adjusting to ensure students grasp core concepts and addressing challenges in real-time.
- Alternate between teaching in a classroom environment and facilitating pair or group work, providing clear guidance and fostering collaboration.
- Oversee the entire academic experience of the bootcamp, ensuring students are engaged, challenged, and supported throughout.
- Manage Teaching Assistants to enhance student success and contribute to a positive and dynamic learning environment.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom culture that accommodates various learning styles and backgrounds.
- Encourage students to think critically and strategically as they tackle data science challenges, applying their skills to solve real-world problems.
- Collaborate with Program Managers, Project Managers, and stakeholders to ensure students achieve their professional and educational goals.
- Administer assessments and provide timely, constructive feedback to students to help them improve and succeed.
