Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SMT Process Engineer (Surface Mount Technology) to join our manufacturing team. The SMT Process Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing theentire SMT production line, ensuring high-quality output, efficiency, and continuous improvement. This role requires a deep understanding of SMT processes, equipment, and quality control measures, including programming and maintaining optical inspection machines, screen printers, pick and place machines, reflow ovens.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in SMT process engineering or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with SMT equipment (e.g., screen printers, pick and place machines, reflow ovens) and optical inspection machines (e.g., AOI, SPI).
- Experience with process optimization, root cause analysis, and defect reduction in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of SMT processes, materials, and equipment.
- Proficiency in programming and operating optical inspection machines.
- Proficiency in using process control tools and techniques (e.g., SPC, DOE).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and optimize SMT processes to ensure high-quality production.
- Identify and resolve process bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
- Continuously monitor and analyze production data to drive improvements in yield, cycle time, and overall process efficiency.
- Program and set up SMT equipment (e.g., screen printers, pick and place machines, reflow ovens) according to production requirements.
- Program, calibrate, and maintain optical inspection machines (e.g., Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), Solder Paste Inspection (SPI)) to ensure accurate quality control.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure regular preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of SMT and inspection equipment.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of equipment capabilities and limitations.
- Develop and implement process control strategies to minimize defects and ensure product quality.
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to analyze defects, implement corrective actions, and improve process stability.
- Conduct root cause analysis for process-related issues and drive corrective actions.
- Create and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, setup sheets, and process control plans.
- Generate and analyze reports on process performance, yield, and downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment settings, process parameters, and material usage.
- Train and support production staff in SMT process procedures, equipment operation, and troubleshooting.
- Provide technical guidance and support to operators and technicians.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in SMT technology and implement best practices.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma) to enhance process efficiency and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and new product introductions (NPI).
- Drive innovation in SMT processes and contribute to the development of new technologies and methods.
