Snowmaking Team Lead

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Operate snowmaking and related equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
• Maintain daily snowmaking log.
• Perform pre- and post-operation checks.
• Perform daily light maintenance on equipment (topping up fluids, cleaning interior and exterior, greasing, and fueling of machine as needed).
• Layout, connect and charge hoses (setup).Discharge, disconnect, thaw and drain hoses (teardown).
• Discharge, disconnect, thaw and drain hoses (teardown).
• Activate and deactivate snowmaking pump.
• Recognize and report any potential hazards to the Director of Operations, Grooming Team, Mountain Safety, and/or Fleet, Facilities and Purchasing Manager as appropriate and assist in emergency situations.
• Recognize and report any unusual situations (unusual noises, poor production quality, etc.).
• Provide assistance to maintenance staff and assist with other general duties as assigned.
• Perform snow removal and snow farming (including snowmaking and snow fencing).
• Monitor and adjust snow gun as required.
• Performance management.

REQUIREMENTS

• Mechanical aptitude and understanding of basic operations and maintenance of equipment.
• Basic understanding of mountain resort maintenance and ski / snowboarding terrain needs.
• Previous experience with snowmaking or terrain building.
