Responsibilities:

A ROLE YOU WILL LOVE

Our Security Operations analysts are based in our incredible offices within the heart of Edinburgh, St Andrews square with fantastic transport links all around.
This hybrid role works closely with our partners including the Service Desk and NOC teams to collaboratively identify and resolve threats to Computershare. In-line with these partners, this role is built on a shift pattern where you will work 12-hour shifts over 2 days, 2 nights, followed by 4 days off.

Some key responsibilities:

  • Monitor security information and event management (tools), endpoint detection systems and network alerts to detect potential security threats.
  • Triage Alerts by analysing patterns of behaviours or anomalies.
  • Identify and escalate security incidents, particularly those involving sensitive customer data or financial transaction systems.
  • Coordinate with senior SOC analysts for immediate containment and mitigation.
  • Correlate security alerts with intelligence on financial sector threats, such as phishing campaigns, payment fraud or insider threats.
  • Analyse logs related to apps, customer portals, and other critical infrastructure to detect anomalies.
  • Highlight suspicious activities like failed logins, unauthorized privilege escalation or unusual data transfers.

WHAT WILL YOU BRING TO THE ROLE?

Our SOC Analysts are responsible for first line triage and second line response, utilising the latest threat intelligence to detect and respond to incidents. Working closely with our regionally aligned Senior Analysts, you will help form a key element of our response capability.

Other key skills required for the role include:

  • Experience of working in a team.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and work within a technical group.
  • Ability to follow set process & procedures and be able to question these where appropriate.
  • Degree in Cybersecurity would be an advantage.
  • Willingness to defend our values, data and customers.
