Description:
QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:
- Hold a diploma in Social Care, Applied Social Studies, Applied Social Studies in Social Care or foreign equivalent (validated by QQI)
- Have at least six months post qualification experience of working with adults with an intellectual disability.
- Must hold a full clean driving licence and be willing to drive company vehicle
- Have the legal right to work in Ireland and currently hold valid work authorisation for Ireland
- Be proficient in the English Language

Responsibilities:
- To support the Person In Charge with all aspects of the effective running of the residential service.
- To facilitate and implement a person-centered approach for the individuals we support appropriate to their wishes and goals
- To promote and protect the rights of the individuals in a manner that respects their dignity, their right to make choices and their privacy
- To actively seek new interests and opportunities for the individuals we support to develop meaningful roles in their communities
- To ensure the overall wellbeing of the individuals we support in all areas of their lives including health and personal care
- To assist in the teaching of life skills in cooking, budgeting, cleaning & building confidence
- To drive the company vehicle
- Have a knowledge of the HIQA regulations and standards
- Experience of dealing with behaviours that challenge
- Experience, knowledge and understanding of behavioural support plans
- MAPA experience or equivalent
- Understanding and experience of therapeutic interventions
- Experience of teaching skills in cooking, budgeting, cleaning & building confidence skills
- Experience in alternative communications
- Excellent organisation and communication skills
- Experience of creative problem-solving techniques
- Enthusiasm, energy and creativity
- Have the ability to deal with confidential information in a discreet and responsible manner
- Excellent IT and report writing skills
- Be flexible to work a variety of rostered shifts over a seven-day work period
