POSITION SUMMARY

LaSalle College Vancouver is looking for a dynamic and motivated Social Media & Content Coordinator to join our team. This role will be responsible for planning and executing engaging content for social, web and other channels to increase LCV’s brand awareness and positioning. Additionally, this role will support in the development of content with current students, alumni, and industry partners. The ideal candidate will have a background in social media marketing, and a passion for driving growth and building relationships in the higher education space. The ideal candidate for LaSalle College Vancouver will demonstrate creativity, resourcefulness, and a passion for working with people.

SKILLS

  • Superior organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understand of design for social media and proficiency with Canva or related tools.
  • Understanding of content creation using mobile devices for image and video capture.
  • Ability to create video content optimized for mobile such as TikTok or Reels content.
  • Experience with DSLR or video cameras and video editing skills would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and experience with keyword research tools is a plus.

Responsibilities:

Social Media & Community Management

  • Coordinate and execute the content calendar to complement marketing and recruitment objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Team to implement and elevate social media strategy while ensuring adherence to brand standards and the production of high-quality content.
  • Manage the LaSalle College Vancouver community across social platforms, responding to messages and providing concierge-like service when managing requests.

Content Strategy & Creation

  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to develop social media and content strategies that support marketing initiatives and drive engagement, while elevating LaSalle College Vancouver’s positioning and aligning with the brand’s vision and objectives.
  • Write, edit, and proofread content for various channels, including website, social media, and print materials.
  • Monitor content performance using analytics tools and make data-driven recommendations for optimization.
  • Develop communications plans for campaigns, events, and other marketing initiatives.
  • Participate in the planning of and attend events on-site & off-site to capture image and video of LaSalle College Vancouver’s activities to curate content for various channels.

Internal & External Communications

  • Develop and maintain relationships with alumni & industry partners for the purpose of content creation and amplification of LaSalle College Vancouver’s brand reach.
  • Develop thought leadership material like press releases around exciting LaSalle College Vancouver events or student/faculty success stories for internal and external audiences.
  • Participate in the development and coordination of special Marketing projects.
  • Collaborate with all relevant stakeholders to support implementation of influencer marketing initiatives.
