Description:
WHAT YOU BRING:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Social Media Manager or similar role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong understanding of social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.)
- Proficiency in social media management tools and analytics platforms
- Proficiency in photography
- Proficiency videography with ability to edit video for various platforms
- Creative thinking and the ability to generate engaging content.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience with social media advertising and budget management is a plus
- An interest in skiing/snowboarding/mountain biking is considered an asset
- Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva).
- Proven ability to work with Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, SharePoint) and social media tools, video and photography editing
- Familiarity with Adobe creative tools (Premiere, After Effects) or similar
- Weekend and evening work required based on events
- Active role with flexibility to jump from project to project
Responsibilities:
WHAT THE ROLE IS ALL ABOUT:
The Social Media Specialist will be responsible for managing and executing our social media strategy. This role involves monitoring social media channels for brand mentions, responding to brand mentions, flagging escalation of conflict or high-risk comments to the senior manager, and creating engaging content based on marketing plans. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of social media platforms, excellent communication skills, and the ability to achieve goals and KPIs set by the senior manager. You will create a strategic social plan and work directly with the Marcom team to develop impactful storytelling to deliver.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Develop and implement social media strategies to enhance brand awareness and engagement
- Create and curate engaging content (including text, images, and video) to build meaningful customer connections, increase brand awareness and encourage engagement
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop content calendars and ensure consistent posting to drive overall engagement
- Manage social media advertising campaigns and budgets
- Conduct competitive analysis to identify opportunities for growth and improvement
- Collaborate with Team Members on content ideation and execution
- Assist in planning, purchase and optimizing paid digital and social media advertising
- Connect with social media influencers offline and create opportunities for them to support our products and offerings
- Monitor social media channels for brand mentions, comments, and messages, and respond to them in a timely and professional manner
- Flag and escalate conflicts or high-risk comments to the senior manager for further action
- Monitor social media channels for social trends, controversial, or contentious issues
- Track and analyze social media performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns.
- Achieve goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) set by the senior manager.
- Stay up to date with social media trends, platform updates, and industry best practices.
- Monitor and manage social media in the event of a crisis.
- Actively participate in weekly Team Member check-ins and WinSport’s annual performance management program.
- Support Marcom manager in areas of internal communications, as needed
- Contribute to team initiatives and perform duties as assigned.
- Always demonstrate a safe work practice by adhering to all WinSport safety policy and procedures and ensuring one’s own safety is preserved along with the safety of co-workers, direct reports and WinSport guests
- Be mindful of all safety hazards/concerns within the work environment and ensure all safety issues are reported to the appropriate individuals
