Description:
Faculty Appointment Types Full-time Probationary Job Summary
The College of New Caledonia requires a full-time probationary instructor to teach courses in the Social Service Worker program. The courses to be taught include: Principles of Fieldwork & Community: Practicum & Seminar, Introduction to Social Work, Counselling Theories, Child Welfare: Theory & Practice, Critical Perspectives on Contemporary Families, and Practicum & Seminar.
Skills & Qualifications
The successful applicant will have:
- A minimum of a Master’s degree in Social Work or an equivalent applied Master’s degree;
- A minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience in working with individuals and groups, with at least two (2) years’ experience after the completion of the graduate degree;
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills;
- A sensitive approach to a variety of adult student needs, and to international and Aboriginal learners;
- Recent teaching experience at the post-secondary level would be considered an asset;
- Experience with online instruction an asset;
- A current criminal records check;
- Current good standing membership with a regulatory body such as the BCCSW.
