Contract Details: Temporary, Part-time
On behalf of our client, we are advertising vacancies for Social Work Assistants within the Adult Social Services Teams in Newport.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Work Assistant to join the team on a temporary, part-time basis.
As a Social Work Assistant, you will work closely with the team of social workers to provide support to vulnerable individuals and families in the community. Your main responsibilities will include conducting assessments, creating care plans, and providing practical and emotional support to clients.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience in a social work or care setting is preferred
  • A relevant qualification in social work, social care, or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Empathetic and compassionate nature
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Understanding of safeguarding procedures and legislation
  • Flexibility to work on a part-time and temporary basis
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments of clients’ needs and develop care plans in collaboration with social workers
  • Provide practical and emotional support to clients, including assistance with daily tasks and activities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client progress and interventions
  • Liaise with other agencies and professionals involved in the care of clients
  • Attend meetings and case conferences as required
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skills
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures of the company and regulatory bodies
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect the rights and dignity of clients at all times
