Are you passionate about improving the health and wellbeing outcomes for people in Calderdale? Would you be interested in expanding and developing your career in Adult Social care? If so, you could be the person we are looking for. We want to be innovative and creative in the way we work to deliver our service to our communities and have recently undergone a restructure which will take Adult Services in an exciting direction and want you to be part of these changes that we know are needed.
We are seeking an individual who is passionate about adult social care and providing a high-quality service and is keen to develop their professional experience and knowledge. You will be a key part in ensuring our continued success in fulfilling the Council’s statutory responsibilities under the Care Act 2014. The service is committed to helping people to achieve the outcomes that matter to them in their life and the successful applicant will work closely with colleagues and partner agencies to protect an adult’s right to live in safety, free from abuse and neglect.
The Mental Health Social Work Team is a well-established team of experienced Social Workers, delivering statutory social work interventions for adults of all ages living with a mental health condition. The team support people with a wide variety of needs whether this be during a brief period in someone’s life or on a longer-term basis. The team are committed to working collaboratively with partner agencies and community resources, to ensure people receive the right support from the right place at the right time.

WHAT WE ARE PROUD TO OFFER:

  • Committed to providing our workforce with exceptional levels of support, from a comprehensive induction through to continuous personal and professional development. We provide and encourage you to make the most of the high-quality opportunities we offer.
  • Provide dedicated time for monthly group supervision and reflective pods, as well as regular quality shared discussions.
  • We have approachable and supportive managers who have an open door, regular advice surgeries and are willing to listen; we’re experienced professionals, we all pull together to support each other and share our expertise.
  • We understand that social work is challenging and know how important it is to take care of ourselves. Work life balance is very important, and we’ll support you with that.
  • Offer a generous annual leave entitlement with an additional 5 days after 5 years’ service and enrolment into the local government pension scheme.
  • We have excellent technology and equipment that enables you to connect and collaborate from anywhere.
Applications accepted from candidates who are NQSW, Level 2 and Level 3, prior experience in mental health not required. Candidates must be Social Work Qualified with proof of right to work in the UK. Candidates seeking sponsorship need not apply.
