The opportunity
As an EAP counsellor, you will provide in-person counselling services to TELUS Health’s EAP clients in your area, on an as-needed basis. You will be working as an independent contractor based on your ability to accept new clients.

How you will make an impact

• You will provide short-term counselling to a diverse set of clients dealing with various issues, within the terms and conditions of the client’s EAP;
• You will manage the administrative requirements as dictated by TELUS Health’s clinical models.

What you bring

• You possess a master’s Degree in Counselling, Social Work or Psychology;
• You are fully registered with the NS College of Social Workers or the NS College of Counselling Therapists and hold a valid professional liability insurance;
• You have post-graduate counselling experience;
• You demonstrate the ability to set short term objectives and use a solution focused approach;
• You have the ability to clinically manage high-risk cases, including clients who are a threat to self or others;
• You have good knowledge of community resources.
