REQ004949

It is vital that you demonstrate how you meet the ‘essential’ criteria listed in the attached Person Specification, in order to secure an interview: How to apply - guidance for applicants | Torfaen County Borough Council
Are you a qualified Social Worker, looking for a change? Following a review of the Family Placement Team, the Council has invested significantly in support to Foster Carers with additional Social Worker Posts being created.
With over two thirds of our Children Looked After in the care of foster carers, improving outcomes for Children Looked After must start with improving foster care.
We are keen to welcome enthusiastic Social Workers into the team, to enhance the support we provide to our foster carers and work alongside experienced members of staff whilst we endeavour to recruit and retain foster carers within the service.
The posts are based at the Civic Centre, Pontypool and also involve spending time working from home and visiting foster carers.
You will be joining a well-established team of experienced Social Workers, Community Support Workers and other professionals, with an experienced management team.
For an informal discussion regarding these vacancies, please contact Kirsty Cooke on 01495 766616/ Kirsty.cooke@torfaen.gov.uk.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. A comprehensive screening process will be undertaken on all applicants which will include an Enhanced check with the Disclosure and Barring Service.
Torfaen County Borough Council strives to be a fair, supportive and effective employer. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. The Council expects all employees, paid or unpaid, to share this commitment.
