Description:
JOB OVERVIEW:
The Child and Adolescent Outpatient Unit offers a full array of psychiatric and behavioral health services for children and adolescents, ages 3, 5 to 18 years old and their family members.
The goals of the program are to improve communication, promote problem-solving, crisis resolution, improve behavior, therapeutically stabilize significantly impaired youth, collaborate with schools, pediatricians, and outside collateral support systems to stabilize placements and facilitate family harmony.
As an LSW in our program, you are responsible for direct provision of services to youth and family therapy services including group and individual/family counseling.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Master’s degree in Social Work
Preferred:
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS:
- Shift working, 11am-8pm, shifts do vary
- Two to Three evening shifts a week
- FT
Responsibilities:
- Obtains appropriate release of information
- Designs and implements treatment plans, including individual, group, and/or family psychotherapy, and evaluates and documents patient outcomes according to department policy and procedure
- Interprets nature of illness and prescribed course of treatment to patients and families
- Communicates family issues to other staff members
- Participates in planning conferences
- Maintains up-to-date and complete records of patient information according to established standards
- As a member of the multidisciplinary team, assists in reviewing and updating treatment and discharge plans
- Collaborates with other hospital programs and community agencies with which patients and families are involved
- Assesses patients’ needs through clinical interview, chart/history review and through use of standardized instruments
- Demonstrates the ability to render care to the following age groups: child; adolescent
- Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development over the lifespan and criteria to identify victims of abuse and neglect
- Performs age-specific assessments
- Uses communications appropriate to age
- Assesses age specific safety issues
- Interprets patient data and responses
