Job Description:
As a Virtual Associate Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping our clients navigate their mental health challenges, fostering positive change, and promoting overall well-being. Through our virtual platform, you will conduct individual, family, and couples counselling sessions, ensuring that our clients receive the support they need from the comfort of their own homes.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct virtual counselling sessions for individuals, couples, and families, providing empathetic and evidence-based interventions.
- Collaborate with clients to develop personalized treatment plans tailored to their unique needs and goals.
- Utilize excellent communication, problem-solving, collaboration, cultural competency, interpersonal, self-care, time management, and organizational skills.
- Employ a strength-based approach to empower clients and help them develop coping strategies and life skills.
- Stay invested in growing with and promoting Luminare Counselling.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records, ensuring compliance with ethical and legal guidelines.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and therapeutic techniques to continuously enhance your professional skills.
- Collaborate and coordinate with other professionals, such as psychologists, psychiatrists, and educators, to provide comprehensive care when necessary.
- Possess professional liability insurance.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work
- A valid registration as a Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSSW).
- Experience in individual, family, and couples counselling, with a strong background in evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
- Experience with EMDR, Gottman Method, DBT, or EFT is an asset.
- Excellent virtual communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build trusting relationships with clients.
- Flexibility to accommodate evening and weekend appointments, catering to our clients’ scheduling needs.
- Experience working with children and adolescents is an asset.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
- Willing to market yourself if needed and grow with the practice
- Prior experience and interest in running therapy groups is a plus.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to embrace new therapeutic approaches.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team.
