Description:
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION REQUIRED
- Degree in Social Work and registration in good standing with professional college
- Three (3) years of mental health experience, community-based experience is a definite asset
- Excellent skills in mental health assessment and teaching, case management, decision making, and effective crisis intervention
- Demonstrate the ability to intervene effectively in clinical situations for youth and adults experiencing mental illness
- Ability to demonstrate a non-homophobic and anti-racism approach
- Ability to work with diverse communities
- Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
- Fluency in a second language an asset
- Access to a car and a valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities:
THE ROLE AND OPPORTUNITY
CMHA Toronto is seeking a Social Worker (MSW) to join our Early Psychosis Intervention Team. This position involves working in a multidisciplinary team and will be based out of our Lawrence Avenue West location or community partner location. Early Psychosis Intervention services are provided to young adults aged 16-34 who have experienced a first episode of psychosis and their families.
Salary: $62,915 - $72,942 + 4% in lieu of vacation
Hours of Work: 35 per week
Location: 700 Lawrence Ave. W and in the community
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop therapeutic alliance with clients and their significant others
- Provide psycho-education about medications and symptoms
- Complete Assessments, Collaborative Goal Planning and Delivery of Coordinated Specialty Care for Psychosis Model
- Monitor treatment regimes
- Assess mental status and monitor physical health needs
- Assess client needs and link to appropriate resources
- Work from a recovery-based perspective
- Provide support and education to family members and significant others
- Collaborate service provision with other team members and community partners
