Job Overview:
RWJBH Behavioral Health Center is seeking a MSW/LSW to work in the inpatient units providing psychosocial assessments, group therapy, treatment planning, and discharge planning to adult patients who are experiencing behavioral health issues. The candidate will be a member of an interdisciplinary team including Psychiatrists, Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, and Adjunct Therapist.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Master s Degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university
Preferred:
- Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC)
Certifications and Licenses Required:
- Licensed by the New Jersey Board of Social Workers
Scheduling Requirements:
- Shift working, 8:30am - 5:00pm
- Monday - Friday
- Full-Time
Essential Functions:
- Provides family counseling session whenever possible or clinically indicated
- Participates in monthly Social Work meetings with the Director of Inpatient Social Services
- Participates in and assists in the development of the interdisciplinary treatment planning process
- Short term counseling; to assist patient in identifying adaptive means of coping through individual and group therapy
- Reviews discharge planning options and evaluates alternatives with patient and their significant others to enhance their acceptance of plans
- Establishes rapport with family or significant other whenever possible or clinically indicated
- Involve patient s family or significant other in formulator
- Implements the policies and procedures of the Behavioral Health facility
- Performs interventions in accordance with current policy and procedure
- Safety guidelines and infection control principles
- Facilitates access to community agencies by providing referrals and information to patients
- Their significant others, community agencies and other community members advocating for patients when necessary
- Intervenes with patients and their significant others to enhance their intervenes with patients and their significant others to enhance their ability to cope with mental illness,
- Hospitalization; post-hospital care needs, and lifestyle changes
- Assesses patient’s psychological social, medical and substance abuse issues through direct patient interview or interview/ contact with patients’ significant others with respect to their current needs to establish appropriate post-program care plans and any services that may be necessary while patient is in treatment
- Other duties as assigned
