Description:
The Priory Hospital Preston has established an excellent reputation for offering calming and recovery focused residential treatment for up to 38 service users.
Due to the expansion of the hospital, in autumn 2024, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time social worker. The ideal candidate for this role will:
- Conduct comprehensive and objective evaluations of the client’s current status, environment and functional abilities, including risk assessment of clients, staff and wider community.
- Manage an assigned caseload ascertaining the socio-economic circumstances of clients, ensuring that relevant people are made aware of the situation. Maintain associated records.
- Assist with safeguarding issues and take appropriate action with those statutory services, service users and relatives support.
- Assist and support colleagues and relatives in understanding and interpreting changes in legislation and statutory provision.
- Collaborate and act as main contact between relatives, agencies, and other official organisations, coordinating negotiations and communications regarding admissions, discharges and long term needs.
You will have a social work degree, hold HCPC registration and have a sound knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Children’s Act and Safeguarding. (training can be provided). Along with experience working as a qualified practitioner within a relevant mental health setting
