JOB DESCRIPTION

Technology Services i s on the hunt for a passionate and innovative Software Developer III to play a key role in supporting many of the university’s various divisions, offices, units and departments under the Office of the Provost . This is your chance to contribute to an essential service that empowers academic achievement, supports cutting-edge research, global innovation, and contributes to student success. As a Software Applications Developer III, you will collaborate with end users throughout the entire software development process, spanning from conceptualization and application deployment to ongoing maintenance and support. Your focus will be on maintaining and crafting a wide variety of applications, both vendor-based and in-house, tailored to support our various departments. The development environment is dynamic, encompassing Windows, Linux, and Cloud platforms (AWS and Azure ) for web-based applications. You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of programming languages including , C#, Angular, Bootstrap, Python, as well as utilize CSS, Bootstrap, Java script and SQL scripting for comprehensive software development.   • Design, implement, test, and maintains our web-based applications
  • Provide technical assistance to our customers
  • Document systems procedures and guidelines
  • Actively participate in quality assurance

Salary: $62 ,241 - $81,000
This opportunity is an onsite position here in College Station, Texas.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience AND 5 years of software development experience
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent customer services skills.

A well-qualified candidate sh ould possess one o r more of the following:

  • Five years of software applications developer experience.
  • Knowledge of intermediate troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills required .
  • Must be extremely dependable.
  • Experience in the following programming languages: C#, HTML, CSS, SQL Scripting.
  • Experience with data processing and querying in JSON and XML.
  • Experience integrating software with external API’s.
  • Experience with the following open-source technologies: Bootstrap and Angular
  • Experience with Agile software development practices.
  • Experience with virtualized infrastructure such as Open Stack, Vagrant, or EC2.
  • Experience with automated deployment, e.g. with Azure DevOps .
  • Must be knowledgeable of the Model-View-Controller design pattern and .Net CORE / Blazor architecture .
