THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Delivery Manager to lead the successful delivery of software projects within our Logistics and Supply Chain business. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent project management skills, and a proven track record in software development and delivery.
As a Software Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the end-to-end delivery of software projects for our largest clients, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. You will work with product and technical leadership to lead cross functional and inclusive engineering teams that value collaboration and learning in a company growing rapidly and taking on new challenges. You will help to ensure that impediments are squashed, delivery is planned, quality is being maintained, stakeholders are informed, and engineering teams have what they need to deliver.
Whilst you will be handling the day-to-day running of delivery projects in software development, we encourage all colleagues to be on the lookout for improvements, whether that be for a client or within Satalia, and to be a force for positive change. Autonomy and empowerment in decision making are key tenets to help drive that change, and we look for candidates who can independently drive our teams forwards.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support product leadership in delivering roadmaps, and communicating progress to stakeholders, including clients
- Collaborate with engineering and product managers to eliminate blockages and ensure all projects are running efficiently
- Help cross-functional squads ideate, plan, manage dependencies, and communicate effectively
- Facilitate a collaborative, dynamic planning process - balancing the work that needs to be done against the capacity and capability of the team
- Encourage Lean and Agile thinking, making the most of the great teams we have, while encouraging them to set goals, embrace change and measure performance, and self-organise
- Hold teams accountable in following their agreed team norms and delivering on their commitments
- Manage the backlog, team work plan & dependencies (inc. client management, resource planning, dependency management)
- Manage the development team (e.g. ceremonies, velocity, quality, across all roles)
- Ensure that we’re prepared for large feature releases; work has been thoroughly tested, relevant business functions have been informed and trained
- Manage implementation into environments (e.g. deployment process, implementation steps and planning, client comms, etc)
- Support cross functional teams in identifying risks and be proactive in encouraging everyone to mitigate them
- Identify coaching and facilitation needs across a number of product and engineering teams as they take ideas from discovery to production
- Foster a culture of inclusivity, belonging, and psychological safety that drives continuous feedback and improvement for both teams and individuals
- Challenge product, design, and engineering to create high performing teams that build quality products, and deliver customer value in a fast paced environment
- Strive to identify and improve our distributed team’s working practices
- Be an advocate for outcome led delivery; ensuring that teams remain goal oriented
- Drive the process, refinement and improvements of our use of tooling to plan, measure, and communicate what teams are working on
As an equal opportunity employer, we welcome applications that reflect the diversity of our wider community. Please let us know at any time if you require reasonable adjustments to your interview process and feel free to let us know the pronouns you use.
