Ford’s software engineers will develop the next-generation technologies that change how our vehicles are designed, built and connect on information exchanges. Our products handle information at large scale. We’re looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information exchange, data pipelines, distributed computing, large-scale system design, UI design and cloud; the list goes on and is growing every day.
In this role, you are going to work on real world problems on a global scale, own the systems end-to-end and influence the direction of our technology that impacts how customers around the world use our software-defined vehicles. You will be expected work with like-minded individuals to develop a robust tool for generating Latency for Platform Architecture teams. The system intends to provide immediate feedback on feasibility, guardrails and ability for Architects to build sequences and flows.

In this role, you will be hands-on, design and build a tool for use by the vehicle architecture team, feature and platform systems team deliver a Modeling tool for Platform Latency. You will collaborate with ECU owners and suppliers to resolve issues, implement methodologies and enable fast-paced delivery.
In this role, you will be hands-on, design and build a tool for use by the vehicle architecture team, feature and platform systems team to model vehicle flows optimized for performance and keeping latency constraints in consideration.
You will be expected work with like-minded individuals to develop a robust solution that provides interfaces, APIs and rule sets for multiple teams to interact with to design vehicle flows. The system intends to provide immediate feedback on feasibility, potential heat maps/issues and view into system flows.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.
  • 4+ years of experience s in Python, C++ or similar scripting language, JavaScript
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical writing skills.
  • Experience with DevOps technologies and familiarity with implementing Continuous Delivery models.
  • Experience working in Agile environments and working across disciplines and teams.
  • Familiarity with automotive ECUs, control systems, and communication protocols.

  • Own and drive the design, development of tools and technologies required for Platform Architecture Latency tool
  • Develop and maintain tools and environment for managing delivery of SW changes in a fast-paced agile environment.
  • Develop scripts to automate the building of solutions and establish continuous delivery mechanisms for all vehicle programs.
  • Collaborate with team and internal customers to design and implement tools, manage end to end delivery of products to make other engineers more productive
