We’re looking for a Full Stack Software Developer Intern (4 month contract, from January to May 2025) to join our Lightspeed X-Series Team in Montreal. With Lightspeed X-Series, you’ll build software solutions that provide merchants with all of the tools that they need to thrive in the market. You’ll join a product development team that believes in continuously delivering value while following software engineering best practices and building robust, scalable solutions for our customers.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Deliver best-in-class software in collaboration with designers, product managers, and other developers
  • Contribute to developing proof of concepts and prototypes, and assist in building a scalable, testable, and maintainable app ready for production.
  • Actively participate in pair programming, team stand-ups, planning sessions, new feature kick-offs, and demo sessions.
  • Contribute to the team’s culture by joining discussions and challenging your peers
  • Extending your own skills by learning from and growing with the team

What you’ll be bringing to the team

  • Experience with Full-stack web development experience (frontend + backend)
  • Experience with Go and React, or the willingness to learn
  • Familiarity with programming patterns and microservices architecture
  • Familiarity with writing automated unit and integration tests
  • Familiarity with software coding standards, source control management, code reviews, and testing.
  • Understanding of Agile development and continuous delivery
  • Attention to detail and have the ability to think abstractly
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to function effectively in a team environment.
  • Have an open mindset about seeking improvement and feedback
  • An appetite for learning

Even better if you have hands-on experience with (but not necessary)

  • Some experience with GraphQL and TypeScript
  • Some experience with other web development languages like Angular or PHP
  • Some experience with Docker and Node
  • Familiarity with GIT like working with branches, opening pull requests, merging conflicts
  • Knowledge of eCommerce / POS systems
  • Knowledge of continuous integration and deployment of SaaS applications
