Description:

Our client located in Mississauga, ON (Hybrid) is looking for a skilled Software Developer to join their Information Services team.
The Software Developer will be responsible for backend development and supporting the design, coding, testing, and implementation of software applications. This role involves ensuring the functionality and usability of software systems, creating custom reports, and resolving technical issues.
The ideal candidate will have strong skills in Java, SQL, and EDI technologies.

SOFTWARE DEVELOPER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in software development, including Java, SQL, and EDI technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify and fix errors in code.
  • Experience with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce), Microsoft Project, and JDE 9.2.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze business needs and develop web applications to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Implement updates and enhancements to existing applications such as invoice generators, inspection systems, and production reporting tools.
  • Manage database permissions and design SQL queries to support applications.
  • Develop and test Java and SQL-based applications, and provide troubleshooting support for JDE.
  • Prepare and document operational reports, manuals, and maintenance instructions.
  • Conduct system validations in test and production environments.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure software meets requirements and standards.
  • Assist with the setup and maintenance of workstations, printers, and essential software.
