POSITION OVERVIEW
Rolle IT is seeking an experienced MUMPS Developer with a deep understanding of the VA VistA environment to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing key components of the Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA) system. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support and improve electronic health record (EHR) functionalities, ensuring efficient performance and reliability for healthcare providers and veterans.
This position is remote and requires U.S. citizenship and eligibility for Public Trust Clearance.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of professional experience working with MUMPS and VA VistA systems
- Strong knowledge of FileMan, CPRS, and other VistA-related tools
- Experience with HL7 messaging and integration with healthcare systems
- Proficiency in database management using GT.M or InterSystems Caché
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum development methodologies
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible for Public Trust Clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working within the Department of Veterans Affairs or other healthcare systems
- Knowledge of healthcare standards such as ICD-10, CPT, and DICOM
- VA clearance preferred but not required
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain modules within the VA VistA EHR system using MUMPS
- Collaborate with clinical and IT teams to optimize CPRS workflows and VistA functionality
- Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing VistA applications to ensure performance and reliability
- Manage data structures using FileMan and integrate healthcare systems with third-party applications via HL7 messaging
- Perform code reviews and support continuous integration and development efforts
- Maintain database operations using GT.M and InterSystems Caché to ensure system uptime and data integrity
- Provide technical documentation and training as needed
