Emphasys Software’s Housing Locator, a wholly owned subsidiary of Constellation Software (TSX: CSU), is seeking a Development Lead who will lead our development team and help us build great products. The person will have a self-starter mindset, able and willing to jump into the weeds to learn the system and contribute as an individual contributor, while also making time to advise and lead strategically.
This is a development leadership position reporting to the General Manager of the Emphasys HL business unit. The Development Manager oversees a team of software developers and works closely with the product managers and the client support and business development groups to ensure the timely delivery of software development projects to ultimately achieve the revenue and customer satisfaction goals of the HL BU.

• Learn and understand the domain and architecture of all Emphasys HL products.
• Provide developers with specifications and direction on how to implement new module or system functionality specifically in the areas of user interface, user experience, optimization of queries, process architecture, and development best practices.
• Implement standardization across products to facilitate products on-going maintenance and transferability.
• Support Product Manager in the design and deployment of new modules, add-ons, or functionality.
• Manage development resources to create realistic project timelines and launch dates employing agile methodologies to ensure best use of resources.
• Support Product Manager and Business Development group by contributing technical knowledge needed for RFP responses, hosting quotations, and other potential business inquiries.
• Manage all development environments for HL products and services.
• Support HL’s hosting team providing guidance on environment architecture and security protocol.
• Manage installation and deployment of products during implementations and subsequent releases including hosting environment set up and configuration, initial installation, job scheduling, product version control, and release package preparation.
• Create and maintain Emphasys HL technical documentation on development department processes and procedures, product architecture, and development and demo environments connectivity and structure.
• Work with the other business teams to offer insight gathered from development operations.
• Collaborate with HL management team to drive BU direction and growth.
