My client, a growing tech firm dedicated to improving retirement security by offering a robust data network for defined contribution plans. The company collaborates with various stakeholders to deliver lifetime income products through an advanced API suite, aiming to enhance the efficiency and security of the retirement marketplace.
The candidate MUST have prior experience with software development utilizing the JS ecosystem.
While this role is open in Toronto, it is open to a remote schedule. Candidate must be located in Toronto/Greater Toronto area*

REQUIREMENTS:

• 3+ years of experience as a QA/Tester in a tech environment, preferably at a startup.
• 2+ years of software development experience.
• Proficiency with modern JavaScript, relational databases, and SQL.
• Experience with various testing frameworks and an understanding of web security technology.
• Ability to automate testing across different levels (API, UI, Backend).
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada or the US.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• B.Sc. in Computer Science or related field.
• Familiarity with the AWS ecosystem.
• Experience in Financial Services or working in SOC 2-compliant environments.
• Strong attention to detail and user-centric mindset.
• Entrepreneurial attitude with a willingness to tackle complex problems.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

Software Tester with a strong background in both software development and quality assurance. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in shaping and improving our software testing strategy, processes, and workflows. This role has a particular focus on integrating security into the development lifecycle, ensuring it is treated as a core aspect.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and execute test plans for new features.
• Implement and maintain automated test suites.
• Ensure comprehensive test coverage, including edge cases.
• Replicate customer-reported issues and collaborate on resolutions.
• Identify, document, and track bugs through to resolution.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of QA infrastructure.
• Work closely with tech and product teams to ensure consistent product execution.
• Engage in professional development and training opportunities.
