We are seeking a highly motivated, customer-obsessed, team-oriented Software Development Engineer IV to join our Digital Solutions team to work on Premera’s Web and digital properties. The preferred candidate will be a front-end engineering lead familiar with modern frameworks that can design and lead our next generation web platform. This is a remote/telecommuter position working from home. However, you will be expected to align with standard working hours (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM) in the Pacific time zone.

What you’ll do:

  • Consult with business partners and IT leaders to identify problems and opportunities for improvement and recommend software and system solutions.
  • Recommend appropriate technologies and system solutions that scale and consider a system-wide and architectural view.
  • Develop, modify, and maintain applications using agile methodologies such as Xtreme programming (XP), test driven development (TDD), and pair programming (PP).
  • Provide design and technical consulting expertise for small to large sized projects.
  • Collaborate with team members to create and own web solutions.
  • Analyze and resolve medium to large, moderately complex production problems.
  • Participate in on-call production support rotation as needed.
  • Initiate a personal training plan, continue acquiring skills and knowledge, and become the best in your area.
  • Maintain and extend our Angular web portals by leveraging modern software principles.
  • Create reusable components for use by developers and content creators.
  • Take a DevOps approach in maintaining our build pipelines and cloud environments.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an IT related field or equivalent experience. (Required)
  • (8) years of work experience in information technology and/or software development. (Required)
  • Development experience utilizing React, React Native, C#/.Net and MFE.
  • Experience in Angular is preferred.
  • Experience in database systems including SQL and/or no SQL.
  • Experience in creating micro services, maintaining services, or utilizing service-driven design.
  • Experience with Agile, SCRUM, and DevOps methodologies, actively participating in a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience working with cloud systems such as Azure/AWS/GCP.
  • Experience in creating automated test cases.
  • Customer-focused with demonstrated experience and ability to identify and assess root issues and resolve to customer’s satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication, sharp analytical abilities, and proven design skills.

The pay for this role will vary based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographic location, market conditions, and specific skills and experience.
National Salary Range:
$102,600.00 - $174,400.00
National Plus Salary Range:

$117,000.00 - $198,900.00

  • National Plus salary range is used in higher cost of labor markets including Western Washington and Alaska.
