Description:

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
    This position is for a Software Engineer that will lead the development of Neuron container technology and developer tools for the AWS Neuron SDK. All candidates must have experience working with Docker, runc, and Kubernetes. Deep knowledge of profiling and optimization, resource management, scheduling, code generation and optimization are also needed to be effective at working on developer tools.
    In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of new container technologies being delivered to AWS customers, as well as, work with multiple AWS ML Service teams (e.g. Sagemaker and EKS) on integration of this technology into their services. New design and development is also required to improve debug experience of container-based customer deployments and better integrate into future container technologies.

    Key job responsibilities

Key responsibilities of this role includes maintaining regular deployments of new Deep Learning Containers, developing new capabilities in container orchestration and container services, and integration of all of the above into many AWS services used for Machine Learning. New capabilities vary from new tools, advances in container technology, and shared development of new features in both EC2 and Machine Learning service teams. A final responsibility is to maintain customer-facing documentation, which will require excellent written communication skills.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
