Evernorth in partnership with Daughtery Business Solutions is proud to be an Access Point corporate partner with our Software Engineer Apprenticeship Program.

Applicants must meet certain qualifications in order to be considered:

  • Must have met all requirements as set by Access Point
  • Must be approved and selected as an Apprentice candidate by Access Point
  • Must be enrolled/enrolling in the Access Point Training Program at Saint Louis Community College/University of Missouri Saint Louis
  • Candidates must be team-oriented and relational
  • Effectively communicates to individuals at all levels of the technical and business communities.
  • Develops a strong affiliation with the requirements, technology solution, and operational readiness organizations, including the ability to use, share, contribute and influence the appropriate artifacts, approaches, and best practices used to build enterprise-scale solutions.

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the guidance of a Senior Engineer, you will have the opportunity to have the following responsibilities.

  • Define physical program units and data structures based on the logical model to satisfy the requirements of the application.
  • Improve application quality and reliability by implementing good standards and processes.
  • Increase productivity by implementing tools and processes.
  • Resolve complex technical issues.
  • Develop new user-facing features.
  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use.
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
  • Ensure quality is maintained by following development patterns and standards.
  • Prepare deployment and post-deployment plans to support the conversion and deployment of the solution.
  • Interact with architects, analysts, project managers, developers, customer representatives, and managers to ensure that application solution meets customer needs.
  • Makes well-thought-out decisions on complex or ambiguous issues.
  • Work with the development team to identify and capture test cases, ensure version management.
  • Setting up test environments, designing test plans, developing test cases/scenarios/usage cases, test data, automating and executing these cases.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

Technical knowledge or experience is a basic requirement for this kind of role. The Software Engineer Apprentice also needs to be tactful and diplomatic to maintain a good working relationship with the software developers, QE peers, and across multiple teams. Additional competencies and technologies the Software Engineer Apprentice will develop include:
