Global Specialties is a division of Guy Carpenter, consisting of over 270 colleagues based in London, Bermuda, New York, Singapore, and Mumbai. We offer reinsurance broking services across various classes, including Specialty Property, Marine, Energy, Aviation, Trade Credit, Cyber, Construction, and Engineering.
Data and Insights is a growing team dedicated to enhancing our colleagues’ and clients’ understanding of the markets they operate in. We collect, analyse, and visualise data related to reinsurance transactions, market trends and purchasing habits. Our aim is to empower our colleagues to provide comprehensive advice and assist clients in making well-informed decisions regarding their reinsurance purchasing, risk appetite, and portfolio management.
The Data and Insights team operates in an informal, agile, and transparent manner. We prioritise delivering value through experimentation, regular deployment, and direct engagement with stakeholders. Our current stack features Python, Django, Angular, Postgres, Microsoft SQL, Databricks, Power BI and Excel but we are always open to exploring new technologies.
