Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our Digital Defence Services team following continuous growth and success. Within Digital Defence Services, we are a critical partner to the UK Ministry of Defence in their adoption of secure digital solutions that enable multi-domain integration and data exploitation, which provides the advantage to those who serve and protect us.
Holding a current MoD/Partner DV is essential for this role.

As a Software Engineer you will:

  • Analyse requirements and design
  • Implement and unit test code and supporting artefacts
  • Use appropriate software development tools, e.g. source control, continuous integration
  • Follow industry standard disciplines and best practices

You can bring to the role:

  • Experience of coding in one or more relevant programming languages, e.g. Java, C#, Javascript, Python, C++
  • Familiarity with the packages used by BAE Systems, such as ElasticSearch, NiFI, Python, MS SQL Server; (Essential)
  • Comfortable developing on both Linux and Windows; (Essential)
  • Experience with React, Angular, Neoj4, Active Directory, Kerberos, Keycloak; (Preferred)
  • Experience with the Atlassian suite of tolls (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) for development, documentation, and Agile delivery (Preferred

The following are essential for the role, due to the nature of our business:

  • Hold an MoD/Partner DV (Preferred) or be willing and able to gain an MoD/Partner DV
  • Be a UK National
  • Work on-site (London or West Country) in one of the customer’s sites (4 days per week, Essential, 5 days per week, Preferred)
  • Be willing to travel overseas
