Description:
FocusKPI is looking for a Software Engineer II to join one of our clients, a high-tech, SaaS company.
Work Location: Remote - anywhere in the US
Duration: 4 months contract
Pay Range: $50/hr to $59/hr
Responsibilities:
- Designing and building scalable software for the client’s commerce platform, ensuring seamless customer experiences and meeting revenue goals.
- Collaborating closely with product managers and analysts to understand user needs and develop products that meet those needs, with a focus on revenue generation and customer satisfaction.
- Developing and executing short and long-term roadmaps, balancing business impact, user experience, and technical quality for the Revenue Platform.
- Actively contributing to the team and company culture through participation in code reviews, and involvement in new initiatives.
- Supporting fellow engineers through feedback, code reviews, and improvement of internal tools and processes.
- Ensure continuous service operation by participating in the team’s on-call rotation, including outside core collaboration hours on a periodic basis.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in software engineering or related industry roles, with a focus on backend development and system design.
- BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent technical experience.
- Contributions to open source projects or technical communities, particularly in the areas of Python, web development, and system design.
- Strong understanding of web development principles, including MVC architecture, RESTful APIs, and JSON data formats.
- Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB, and familiar with data modeling and query optimization techniques.
- Demonstrated success in developing and deploying large-scale web applications with a user-focused approach, with experience in technologies such as Python, MySQL, and web servers.
- Proficiency in building scalable backend systems, including experience with web APIs, data pipelines, and cron jobs.
