Michelin has an immediate opening for a Software Engineer responsible for the analysis and the development of logistics solutions in full autonomy. You will design, build, deploy and industrialize software solutions and applications to support Michelin’s purpose: to support everyone’s right to move freely to find their better way forward. What will you do
- Work as part of a Lean and Agile Team to design, develop, test, and deploy solutions (software and non-functional requirements) that create business value, provide a great user experience, and are easy to maintain and operate aligned to CI/CD Processes.
- Maintain and optimize a working solution by evaluating proposed changes, making improvement recommendations, and implementing approved changes.
- Ensure the availability, the performance, and the security level of applications by ensuring delivery of high-quality solutions and providing Level 3 Support.
- Conduct business needs analysis to translate business requirements into functional specifications.
- Perform feasibility studies to validate proposed solutions against the expected requirements, cost, adhered to timelines and provide risk mitigation ideas to the project leader as needed.
- Use an incremental approach (Do & Learn) during design and development to manage the lead time and deliver incremental functionalities quickly.
- Design, test, and deploy interface between applications.
- Contribute to functional testing, adaptation planning, communication, and training.
What will you bring
- BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent experience is required.
- Demonstrated ability in designing and building software solutions (software and non-functional requirements.)
- A demonstrated ability to work with others to gather requirements and translate them into meaningful functional specifications.
- Demonstrates daily Lean & Agile values like cooperation, transparency, courage, and humility to foster teamwork.
- A willingness/ability to provide on-call support or deployment work outside of normal work hours and weekends, as needed.
- Prior experience in supporting Information Systems (IS) operations in a logistics environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of Business Warehousing and Transportation processes is a plus.
- Experience in the following technologies is preferred:
- Cloud and on Premise
- Building and Maintaining Jenkins Application Build and Deploy Scripts
- Creation and Management of GitHub Repositories and Branches
- Application Programming skills in Java, Spring Boot, Apigee and Crystal Reports
- Application and Web Server Administration for both on Premise and Cloud
- Splunk or Open Telemetry Monitoring Deployment and Management, Grafana
- Database design & implementation with knowledge of Oracle
- CI/CD concepts
- Corporate Data Lake
