U.S. Bank is seeking a Software Engineer who will contribute toward the success of our technology initiatives in our digital transformation journey.
This position will be responsible for the analysis, design, testing, development and maintenance of best in class software experiences. The candidate is a self-motivated individual who can collaborate with a team and across the organization. The candidate takes responsibility of the software artifacts produced adhering to U.S. Bank standards in order to ensure minimal impact to the customer experience. The candidate will be adept with the agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes using Java and Python
- Extract data from various sources, including databases, APIs, and flat files
- Transform data to meet business requirements and ensure data quality
- Load data into target systems, such as data warehouses and data lakes
- Optimize ETL processes for performance and scalability
- Troubleshoot and resolve ETL issues
- Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
- Two to three years of relevant experience
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Strong proficiency in Java and Python
- Experience with ETL tools and frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Apache Airflow)
- Deep understanding of SQL and database concepts
- Familiarity with data warehousing and data modeling best practices
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Knowledge of big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Hive)
- Understanding of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
