Are you seeking a challenging and rewarding opportunity to contribute to the technical design and implementation of new features for a highly scalable, secure communication platform that impacts the lives of doctors, nurses, and patients? As a Software Engineer I (Backend) at TigerConnect, you’ll be responsible for building and maintaining the infrastructure that powers the future of healthcare communication.
We’re seeking a hands-on platform engineer who is looking to build large-scale, distributed services and has a passion for solving challenging problems. This is a hybrid position based in our Mexico City technology hub where you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with our engineering teams across the globe.
What You’ll Be Doing:
-

Partnering with Senior Engineers to learn our tech stack and architecture

  • Delivering ongoing feature and performance improvements for the leading healthcare communication infrastructure
  • Developing and maintaining highly scalable and resilient microservices using Erlang or Elixir
  • Working closely with the client and product teams to refine requirements for technical implementation
  • Delivering innovative technology solutions that enable new product features and ongoing performance improvements
  • Troubleshooting and resolving production issues and ensuring that the platform meets the highest levels of security and compliance
  • Implementing automated testing, deployment, and monitoring processes to ensure high-quality code and fast turnaround times

What You Bring:
-

An insatiable appetite for learning innovative approaches, technologies, and architectures and the maturity to apply these judiciously

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in CS, EE or related discipline
  • 1-2 years of experience in software engineering
  • Basic knowledge in functional/asynchronous programming in one or several of the following in .Net, Haskell, Scala, or Clojure (Erlang, Elixir is a plus)
  • Knowledge of immutable data structures, higher-order functions, and pattern matching
  • Experience in cloud platforms; AWS preferred
  • Knowledge building REST APIs
  • Desire to build highly scalable, resilient high availability systems
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools beyond Grafana and Kibana (e.g., Prometheus, Influx DB) preferred
  • Understanding of cloud-based caching solutions (AWS Elastic ache, Azure Cache for Redis, etc.)
  • Understanding of Event-Driven Architecture (EDA) and experience with message brokers like Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ
  • Familiarity with log management and application performance monitoring (APM)
  • Understanding database management and SQL/NoSQL databases
  • Understanding security best practices in software development and cloud environments is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new programming languages and technologies quickly
