MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred. Relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of degree
  • 0-2 years of experience in software development
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycles and agile methodologies
  • Able to develop and learn new and emerging technologies
  • Basic understanding of object-oriented programming

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Basic Knowledge of:
  • SQL database development
  • C#/.net backend development
  • Web development (HTML, CSS, Blazor)
  • Some experience with version control software (Git)

Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE:

As a Software Engineer I, you will write, support, debug, and enhance the software for Driverse. This is a hands-on development role, where you will participate in the design and specification of new features and new products, working closely with the product owner and other stakeholders. You will also work with the operations and support organization to provide client support for DRB Systems’ products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Gathering requirements and analysis to understand the software problem and/or specifications.
  • Participates in creating work estimates, project schedules, and assessing project risks.
  • Implements quality code according to our approved development methods
  • Submits code for and participates in regular reviews focusing on architecture, styles and standards, and functionality
  • Meets stated milestone dates and deadlines
  • Reviews product documentation, test plans, etc. for technical accuracy
  • Works with other departments such as QA and customer support on escalated technical issues
  • Interfaces with various types of third-party software programs
  • Troubleshoots various product related issues
  • Performs unit-level-test code for quality and functionality
  • Performs other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The position works under general direction of the Associate Manager, Software Engineering, exercising discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance in the department.
