You’ll be part of a highly skilled team that is responsible for developing and supporting solutions across the breadth of BV’s domain. Flex Engineering handles critical and important solutions across both front end and back end with a need for high quality and urgency.
Our engineers work with other engineering, product, and design teams across BV product development to facilitate highly collaborative work while conducting knowledge and ownership transfer once complete. Our engineers work to improve quality every step of the way and to ensure their designs and code feel like part of the systems they’re building within.
We are interested in engineers who are hands-on and willing to dig into tough problems. We love people who are willing to explore new areas, learn quickly, and apply their skills to challenging issues.

PRIMARY DUTIES OF THE ROLE:

• Deliver solutions to business problems across the front and back ends.
• Ensure the technical feasibility of designs.
• Design, code and review changes - applying an end-to-end quality mindset to ensure the highest degree of accessibility and composability.
• Engage, collaborate and mentor engineers both on and off the team.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NECESSARY FOR THE ROLE:

• 2 or more years experience with TypeScript, a framework like React/Angular/Vue/Svelte, semantic HTML, and CSS
• 2 or more years of a backend language like Java, JavaScript, Python, or Ruby
• Fearlessness when it comes to delving into areas of the code they don’t fully understand
• A drive and ability to succeed and push others to success
• Strong experience mentoring others on a quality mindset and approach
• Ability to collaborate with others
• Desire to grow and take ownership of work
• Aren’t afraid to take on less glamorous work if it helps the team accomplish their mission
• Experience with Agile or Kanban / Lean software development methodologies
