Our team’s charter is to enable our feature teams to understand their customers via data platforms and A/B Testing, allowing strategic data driven investments. We are looking for a Software Engineer II who will enable over 100 engineering teams to understand feature and processes impact while providing world-class operational monitoring and support for Teams.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of Software Development experience with big data distributed architecture and scaling systems
  • 1+ years of experience building and managing A/B experimentation platform capabilities aligned to big data systems, as well as experience utilizing A/B testing.
  • 1+ years of experience of Software Development experience in any of the following data technologies such as Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Scala, Spark, Hadoop, HD Insights, or equivalent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to communicate technical details clearly across organizational boundaries.
  • Data driven, customer obsessed and organized.
  • Self-motivated with a drive for reaching across organizational boundaries to make progress collaboratively.
  • Proficient analytical skills with systematic and structured approach.
  • Experience creating concise and powerful visualizations of data.
  • Web-based application development experience with JavaScript and React.
  • Ability to handle ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
    Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $83,600 - CAD $159,600 per year.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and maintain components that power the Experimentation infrastructure for Microsoft Teams.
  • Collaborate and influence designs, architectures, and best practices to support large-scale distributed systems and big data pipelines in our A/B testing platform.
  • Analyze complex, high-volume, high-dimensional data systems for scalability.
  • Understand and influence the product metrics in Experimentation AB across different surfaces where MS Teams is available.
  • Collaborate closely with peers and other teams across a variety of technical, business and data backgrounds to find innovative solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Be a champion and influencer of our experimentation-driven culture within MS Teams.
