Description:

We are Web & Work Experiences team in Microsoft 365 Core and, as a team, we are building AI Copilot Web and Work Experiences for Commercial Users. We build engaging and modern chat experiences for information workers and our Enterprise Users to give them the Web and Work Copilot Experiences. To help us achieve our goals and partner with stakeholders in design, research, PM, and data science to influence the future of search in the enterprise, we are looking to hire a Software Engineer II, to join our team.
You will have the opportunity to collaborate with teams across Microsoft and the world to develop innovative AI solutions for Enterprises across all of commercial canvases of Microsoft for Enterprise Users. In the big picture, you will contribute to components integrated in applications across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, and across desktop and mobile form factors. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge in building scalable services
  • Experience developing in HTML/CSS.
  • 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • Performance and profiling of in-browser code.
  • Developing against a REST API.
  • Telemetry and Experimentation.
  • Test Automation.
    Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build engaging and modern experiences for information workers and Enterprise Admins using TypeScript, React and Redux coded against REST APIs.
  • Build highly scalable and fault tolerant services that are highly performant in the Microsoft Copilot area.
  • Constantly improve our live site with monitoring and automation.
  • Build accessible experiences sensitive to the needs of all users.
  • Modularize components for use across Microsoft 365.
  • Work with Developers and leverage their help in getting unblocked and learn on working independently and think and learn on aspects of scale and performance and aspects.
