Description:

The Files and Identity Team drives collaboration, identity, and cloud experience infrastructure for Office. We deliver the platform and collaboration experiences so that our customers can work on the same document with others, in real-time, on any device. We drive the sign-in stack and experiences in apps like Office, Edge, Teams and OneDrive. We work with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the rest of Office to deliver performant and always-available access to your documents in the cloud. We modernize the collaboration experience with intelligent clients and services, and we are on the front lines of enabling Copilot for Office.
If you obsess over technical details and want to solve some of the hardest problems in the core part of Office, then we are looking for a driven and execution-oriented Software Engineer II and we would love to meet you.

We will continue to modernize core Word, Excel and PowerPoint workflows and remove friction in the user experience fundamentals. We use data to understand where opportunities exist. And are grounded in data-based business metrics: increased customer satisfaction and cloud usage. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java
  • OR equivalent experience

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
  • OR related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java
  • OR equivalent experience
  • Ability to effectively communicate about technical subjects and desire to learn.
  • Experience collaborating with others to deliver software features or projects.
    Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
