SOFTWARE ENGINEER III - POSITION OVERVIEW

As part of Walmart’s Social Commerce team, you will be building highly scalable and reliable Android applications that will drive the next generation of affiliates and social commerce experiences. You’ll independently handle high-impact, critical software/systems monitoring issues and troubleshoot business and production issues. We use a hybrid way of working that is primarily in the office coupled with virtual when not onsite. SOFTWARE ENGINEER III MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Option 2: 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.Solid understanding of the Android application life cycle
  • Proficient in RESTful Services, GraphQL, Java, Spring Boot/Play Framework, RDBMS, NoSql
  • Proficient with Designing and building APIs
  • Proficient with event driven architecture
  • Expert knowledge of Java and the JDK
  • Expert knowledge of Kotlin and React-Native
  • Expert knowledge of the Android SDK - Advanced Android UI Skills (Fragments, Custom view components
  • Experience writing multi-threaded and Networked app
  • Expert level debugging and analysis skills using ADB
  • Experience with the application submission/provisioning process
  • Excellent communication skills in both technical and non-technical discussions
  • Have designed and developed a complete Android app from top to bottom.
  • Expert knowledge of IntelliJ or Android Studio
  • Expert knowledge of services as it relates to mobile apps
  • Experience in production system operations (logging, telemetry, alerting etc.)
  • Extensive knowledge of open-source libraries, design patterns and micro-service architecture.
  • Experience with CI/CD and unit testing
  • The keen eyes for detail and desire to learn, win, collaborate, and relish a challenge.

Responsibilities:
