Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Lead the creation of comprehensive end-to-end detailed solutions for projects and platforms with overall accountability for the technical design and delivery of a specific technical solution based on requirements from stakeholders.
Develop and maintain technical solutions, ensuring adherence to engineering and architectural design principles while meeting business requirements. Provide technical expertise with a focus on efficiency, reliability, scalability, and security; includes planning, evaluating, recommending, designing, operationalizing, and supporting solutions in compliance with enterprise and industry standards.
Ultimately, providing expert advice and lead in system / application administration, installation, configuration / provisioning, platform planning and design, integration and release / deployment management.
EXPERIENCE AND / OR EDUCATION
- 8 -10 Years in a progressively technical leadership role in test automation
- 3-5 years in an SDET or Test Architect role
- Expert knowledge and hands on expertise on variety of test automation tools, frameworks and CI/CD tools
- Well-rounded understanding of all test types (functional/non-functional) and delivery methodologies
- Hands on expertise with test automation and build tools Selenium, Appium, Java, Rest Assured, Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, GIT, GitHub, Bitbucket, Atlassian Suite, etc.
- Excellent understanding of DevOps or TestOps concepts
- In-depth knowledge of accessibility standards (including WCAG 2.1 , Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and Accessible Canada Act.) for PDF, web and mobile interfaces.
- Familiarity with accessibility testing tools for assistive technologies, automated testing tools and guided accessibility testing
- Practical knowledge of guidelines and techniques so that accessibility principles can translate to design, content, and coding decisions for core web technologies such as HTML, WAI-ARIA, PDF etc.
- Excellent understanding of cloud and containerization concepts – hands on experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills a must. Effective communication & ability to summarize and explain technical concepts to both specialists and non-specialists for buy in.
- Robust organizational and time-management skills; comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple deadlines and priorities in an agile delivery model

Responsibilities:
- Identify testing capability requirements, gaps in existing capabilities, lead R&Ds and POCs, and take them through business case approvals
- Develop architectural blueprints for all testing tools for enterprise use in compliance with enterprise standards and compliance requirements
- Be the subject matter expert for all continuous testing capabilities, policies and standards
- Lead test automation capability development, including automation frameworks, infrastructure and commercial tools
- Support the development, deployment, and analysis of automation metrics & KPIs around automation effectiveness & efficiencies.
- Conduct R&D, POCs and develop business cases as required.
- Solution for and integrate with automated data and service virtualization
- Solution and lead the development and deployment of integrated reporting mechanism, reducing manual intervention
- Support adoption of automate first approach and Continuous Testing framework
- Develop policies, guidelines and best practices for compliant automation solutions
- Conduct ongoing reviews of automation solution ensuring they are bug free and compliant.
