Responsibilities:

What will the candidate do, day to day then?

As a Software Engineer in our team, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Building software that meets IKEAs high standards, this includes quality, performance, security.
  • Working with fast deliveries at the same time as direct impact of our contributions.
  • Work in agile teams across areas contributing to the development and maintenance of products and services.
  • Setting up and maintain our cloud environments.
  • Working with multiple modern languages in the backend, mainly Python and Java.
  • Working in the Benify solution with user data, benefit enrollments, data migration, approval structures, payroll report structures, SSO, user dependents import among others.
  • Contribute to all aspects of the product lifecycle, with a focus on engineering.
  • Maintain and improve our integration and delivery pipeline.
  • Explore and apply new technologies suitable for our product.
  • Create a “not afraid to fail” mentality by initiating experiments, prototype new ideas and learn from mistakes.
  • Encouraging good practices as well as creating an environment based on psychological safety.
  • Working closely together with other software engineers and cross functions to produce all required designs and ensure that digital solutions work together, fulfilling business needs.
