Responsibilities:
THE ROLE & TEAM:
As a DaD engineering intern, you will be working alongside a talented group of engineers to drive reliability and trust in our content and build systems to solve business challenges.
You will have the opportunity to diagnose issues in our content platform, and propose and implement solutions. This may include immediate bugs or problems but also will also be part of the team to tackle longer-term challenges in support of our get better every day culture.
You will learn our content schema and caching model that focuses on performance and speed and work within that framework to find the best way to deliver the needed content to meet the requirements for specific projects.
Finally you will work on various applications within the platform for improving the publishing and retrieval of our content for all our stakeholders, including our syndication service as well as enhancing our story data all in effort to improve the user experience with our stories.
This role reports directly to the senior director of engineering for delivery and sits on the delivery team. This role will be hybrid with the expectation to be in the Belfast office on average two or three days per week.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with the Delivery team to understand our content schema and content publishing platform.
- Assist in implementing projects that improve our content reliability.
- Participate in the development of new features and systems
- Communicate effectively with product team and other members of the data group about initiatives and feature improvements
