At Secureworks, we are enhancing our cutting-edge real-time detection platform that empower our clients to harness the full potential of their data. The Threat Detection team, part of the Product-Engineering Detection Platform, focuses on advanced detection engines. Our team is dedicated to innovation, excellence and developing scalable, real-time solutions using Apache Flink. We are looking for a passionate and driven Data Engineering Intern to join our dynamic team and contribute to our mission of delivering data driven products.
As a Data Engineering Intern, you will work closely with our experienced data engineers to enhance our advanced detection engines, such as Tactic Graphs™. You will gain hands-on experience with our streaming big data platform using Apache Flink, Kafka & Kubernetes, contributing to the design, development, and optimization of our streaming data processing pipelines. This internship is an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment where you can apply your skills and learn from industry experts.

QUALIFICATIONS (WE EXPECT TO SEE):
- 1 Year of software engineering education/STEM/bootcamp experience.
- Software engineering experience in Java.
- Version control experience such as Git.
- A desire to learn and dive into new programming languages and technologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a collaborative agile team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges in a fast-paced environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (WHAT WE LIKE TO SEE (BUT NOT REQUIRED)):
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience working with docker or kubernetes
- Experience developing and deploying production systems with cloud platforms like AWS or GCP
- Remote work experience with a geographically distributed team (we have teammates in EST to EET time zones)
Responsibilities:
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in Java.
- Participate in code reviews and adhere to best practices in software development.
- Engage in the full software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment and support.
- Work with large, complex data sets to solve challenging problems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data engineering solutions with other parts of the business.
