Reporting to the Manager, Application Development the Full Stack Software Engineer IV contractor will work to support several of Availity’s Authorizations teams. This contractor will be utilized as a shared resource and may change teams throughout the duration of the contract. Initially, this contractor will work on an agile team with a heavy payer implementation focus and will work on customizations and enhancements to existing products, production support, new upgrades, etc. for clients such as Centene and Aetna. We anticipate this role to be ~80% back-end java development with ~20% front-end react development.

What you will be doing:
- Acting as a shared resource across several Availity Authorizations products
- Participating in daily stand ups at 9:30am ET
- Participating in 1.5-hour weekly planning and refinement meetings
- Solving healthcare problems and improving processes
- Working on a team following Agile Scrum principles
- Incorporating development best practices
- Having the opportunity to work full stack on front-end UI and/or backend processing
- Using such technologies as Java, JavaScript, React.js, Node.js, Oracle, & MySQL
- Applying micro-service architectures
- Hosting & consuming RESTful APIs
- Ensuring your code is efficient, optimized, and performant
- Collaborating on programming or development standards
- Maintaining technical debt and applying security principles
- Reviewing the code of others while receiving feedback to ensure code quality
- Innovating with ideas and products to the organization
- Performing unit testing and complex debugging to ensure quality

Requirements:
- 6+ years of progressive work experience designing & developing solutions for business initiatives
- Possesses a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
- Leverages or knowledgeable of the following languages & frameworks
- Java 11
- Javascript
- React.js
- Node.js
- Bootstrap
- SQL (Oracle & MySQL)
- Works with RESTful APIs and web services
- Designs using micro-service architecture
- Applies Object Oriented Design (OOD) principles
- Understands database design principles & query language
- Implements code-based unit tests
- Leverages Git, Jenkins, Kubernetes/Openshift, Docker, or similar tools for delivery
- Experience with Angular and/or React is a plus
- Experience with AWS is a plus
- Knowledge of the healthcare industry is a plus
- Prior experience working/contracting at Availity or Florida Blue is a plus
- Writes technical documentation
